A palpable buzz has been generated by the two Integrated Resorts that have now opened their doors. While Marina Bay Sands, which sits in the heart of the central business precinct, has opened its first phase of facilities, tourists and locals have been thronging the island of Sentosa for a memorable trip to Resorts World Sentosa that houses the Universal Studios.
Marina Bay Sands
Visit the much anticipated Marina Bay Sands as it starts operations this month. Arguably one of the most remarkable architectural projects in the city, the $5.5-billion Integrated Resort houses a 963-room hotel under the Sands brand, a multipurpose convention centre, a shopping mall, two theatres, a museum and a SkyPark that offers 360˚ views of Singapore’s downtown. The first phase of operations includes the opening of six celebrity chef restaurants led by some of the world’s most renowned culinary experts - Tetsuya Wakuda, Daniel Boulud, Mario Batali, Wolfgang Puck, Guy Savoy and Santi Santamaria.

The new gaming halls not only present some exciting activities, they also come with high octane entertainment offerings such as Resorts World’s theatrical circus spectacular, Voyage de la Vie, and Marina Bay Sand’s first off-Broadway musical The Lion King.
Universal Studios Singapore
Take on the thrilling twin rollercoaster, Battlestar Galactica, at Southeast Asia’s first Universal Studios. Modelled after the hit television show, the world’s tallest pair of duelling rollercoasters comprise a suspended rollercoaster and a seated rollercoaster that twist and turn through vertical loops, corkscrews and cobra rolls at 90km/h.
Other attractions at the amusement park include the world’s first Transformers ride and the world’s biggest single collection of DreamWorks Animation hit movies segmented into zones such as Far, Far Away, Jurassic Park and Madagascar. |
