Set on the southern coast of Singapore, Sentosa was used by the British as a fort during the 1940s. With a large naval base, airstrip and numerous costal guns, it was most important part of the British military defense. During World War II, the Japanese Imperial Army invaded Singapore by land from Malaysia. The British could not employ Sentosa’s sea defense against the Japanese land invasion.
Today’s Sentosa is a thriving island of vibrant and colors for tourists and local Singaporeans alike. There is a multitude of attractions, hotels, resorts, beaches, restaurants, bars and spas.
